Cause of Crosslake fire still unknown
Investigators this week are still looking for the cause of the fire that destroyed The Exchange in Crosslake.

Mark Germain, deputy state fire marshal, on Tuesday said he plans to return to The Exchange later this week to continue his investigation.

"The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and the case is still under investigation, that's about all I can say at this point," Germain said.

The fire, reported at 3:06 a.m. Saturday, is believed to have started in the south end of the building and destroyed the bar area, the dance floor and the stage. The dining area and kitchen had heat and smoke damage.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
