Dale Scharfencamp
NEW ULM - Dale Scharfencamp, 75, of New Ulm, went to his heavenly home on, Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at The New Ulm Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4-8:30 p.m. and from 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann Scharfencamp, of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Kala and Guy Henkensiefken, of Brainerd, Lisa and Karey Kroells, of Scandia, Gwen and Rick Mack, of New Ulm, and Stacie and Joel Portner, of Hutchinson; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Judy Scharfencamp, of Cottonwood, Ariz., Kyle Scharfencamp and fiancee, Lisa Meinzer, both of New Ulm, and Jamie and Missy Scharfencamp, of Hutchinson; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Bernard Simonsen and Opal and Jerry Malecek, all of Morgan, and Fern and Dean Paschke, of Brownsdale; brother, Ralph Scharfencamp, of Franklin; sister-in-law, Verna Scharfencamp, of Franklin; mother-in-law, Celestine (Sally) Zinniel, of Sleepy Eye; and by many, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Joe Zinniel; brothers, Paul and Lyle Scharfencamp; an infant sister; brother-in-law, Denis Green; sister-in-law, Angie Scharfencamp; nephews, Jim Green, Doug Scharfencamp and Todd Zinniel.
