On Sunday night, Front Street and Seventh Street will be closed for the downtown Brainerd reconstruction project to allow a Monday morning final paving of the last layer of asphalt, project contractor Tom's Backhoe Service recently reported.
On Sunday night and Monday morning, Laurel Street will be open - up to Seventh Street from each direction.
Laurel Street will be closed on Tuesday for final paving.
Streets will be open about three to five hours after final layer of asphalt is complete.
The exact striping date is not known, but is expected the following week. Asphalt must cure at least three days after completion. In addition, pavers and sandblasting of planters will be complete July 10 with planter railings to be installed Monday.
Weekly meetings with updates on the project are scheduled at 9 a.m. Wednesdays at Brainerd City Hall, 501 Laurel St.
