The Brainerd VFW baseball team split with St. Cloud Thursday dropping the first game 5-1 and claiming the second 7-4.
Jack Hegarty pitched the nightcap win. He tossed six innings of seven hit ball. He allowed four earned runs and two walks while striking out 11.
Bruce London pitched the final inning for the save.
Nate Eschenbacher went 2-3 with an RBI, Mike Smith was 2-3 and Brandon Tautges hit a two-run single.
In Game One Jack Luke went 2-2, Blaine Bubalo 2-4 and Jack Hegarty had an RBI single.
Mitch Bzdok threw the complete-game six hitter. He allowed five earned runs and seven walks. He did strike out six.
