Coleman to visit Little Falls Friday
LITTLE FALLS - Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., will visit Little Falls Friday to discuss renewable energy, economic development and other local issues.

Coleman will visit the Central Minnesota Ethanol Cooperative in Little Falls, where he will discuss the importance of ethanol and renewable fuels while also hearing about the ethanol plant's latest work toward building a biomass energy plant on site.

Power outage set for Friday

Brainerd Public Utilities will have a power outage from 5-6:30 a.m. Friday.

Businesses and residents who will be affected are ones located north of Washington Street between Gillis and Eighth avenues and it will go as far north as M Street.

Franken to headline fundraiser

Al Franken, satirist, comedian, best-selling author and radio host, will be at a cocktail reception for Congressional candidate Coleen Rowley from 4 to 6:30 p.m. July 23 at The Lodge in Brainerd Lakes.

Used book sale donations accepted

Friends of the Brainerd Public Library are accepting donations for the summer used book sale on Aug. 25-26.

Donations may be dropped off at the library during regular library hours. Book sale proceeds fund author visits, children's programs, book club in a bag and the new bestsellers' project at the Brainerd Public Library.
