Crow Wing sheriff

SUSPICIOUS PERSON - Received a report at 1:31 a.m. Friday on the 6000 block of Driftwood Lane, of a person running out of the woods with a knife and blood on him. The subject was playing a prank on another person using ketchup and a paint brush. He was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

Received a report at 7:23 p.m. Thursday of people driving recklessly and throwing fireworks out a vehicle window on Rider Road in Irondale Township. A Crosby officer stopped the vehicle and handled the situation.

Received a request to sign a 19-year-old female who left a few weeks ago and now wants to come home as a runaway so Greyhound would give her a free ticket back. The deputy advised the caller from Estate Circle Drive that would be fraud. The caller then decided that wouldn't be a very good idea and decided to rescind his request.

MISSING PERSON - Joseph Dubel, 10000 block of Greenwood Lane, at 1:13 a.m. Sunday reported a woman missing from his cabin. The woman was found passed out lying in a ditch near Cheeks bar and was brought back to the cabin.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Deputies responded at 11:44 p.m. Sunday to a residence on the 7000 block of Crabtree Lane after the homeowner reported her motion light in her yard came on and her dog was barking. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate anything suspicious. Deputies tried to make contact with the homeowner but she wouldn't answer the door. A dispatcher made contact with the homeowner.

CRASHES - No injuries were reported when officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch at 2:23 a.m. Friday at County Road 145 and County Highway 16 in Ideal. A deputy found a vehicle abandoned in the trees. The driver returned to the scene while the vehicle was being towed and was issued a citation for driving after license revocation.

No injuries were reported in a crash at 1:08 p.m. Thursday on Highway 371 and Gull Lake Dam Road.

No injuries were reported with a vehicle in the ditch at 5:34 a.m. Thursday south of Deerwood on Highway 6 and County Road 133.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - Emily Charter School, 39000 block of Highway 6, Emily, Thursday reported windows vandalized.

Mary Olson, 20000 block of Highway 6, Sunday reported damage to her mailbox.

INVESTIGATION - Received a report Thursday on County Road 1 in Timothy Township of a female driving an ATV with a small infant on her lap.

BURGLARY - Carla Waldemar, 15000 block of Hunt Road, Bay Lake Township, Thursday reported forced entry to cabin.

Ginger Andersen, 20000 block of Emstad Road, Saturday reported her uncle's cabin had been broken into.

ROAD HAZARD - A large item was reported in the road about 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Butternut Road and Highway 25 in Oak Lawn Township. It appeared to be an old fish house that had fallen off the back of a truck. It was moved to the side of the road and if not claimed by owner would be picked up by the highway department.

THEFT - Breck Barrettlane on Saturday reported his cell phone stolen on the 24000 block of Arena Drive in Deerwood.

ARREST - Arrested a 23-year-old woman for fourth-degree sale of a controlled substance at 1:06 p.m. Friday at a residence on the 8000 block of Highland Scenic Road following a Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division undercover buy of prescription medication.

CRASHES - Badia Bailla Friday reported damage to a front bumper while parked at Perkins.

No injuries were reported in a crash at 5:11 p.m. Thursday on the 800 block of Washington Street.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - Tanner Chrysler Dodge, 600 block of Washington Street, Thursday reported a broken windshield on a 2009 Dodge Ram that appeared to have been shot with a BB gun.

Lee Daversa, 700 block of Kingwood Street, reported his vehicle's windshield was damaged.

Port Group Homes for Boys, 1400 block of Laurel Street, Thursday reported a broken van window.

Jaime Janssen, 700 block of Southeast 13th Street, Thursday reported a broken vehicle window.

Cassandra Ryan, Southeast 12th Street and Oak Street, Thursday reported damage to vehicle window.

Brainerd Public Utilities on Monday reported a lift station on the 700 block of Southwest Sixth Street had been tampered with.

Amy Mclain, 800 block of Second Avenue Northeast, Saturday reported a window in her vehicle broken out.

INVESTIGATIONS - Four people were cited for underage consumption at a party at 3:48 a.m. Friday on the 400 block of Southwest Fourth Street.

Received a report Thursday that three juvenile females were looking through mailboxes on Walnut Street. Officers spoke to the subjects and their mothers and advised of the seriousness of the offense.

An officer observed a 48-year-old man in a vehicle at 5:07 a.m. Saturday. The man told the officer he had locked himself in the vehicle and that he had asked a witness to let him out. The owner of the vehicle was found and said she didn't know who the man was. The man was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle.

ASSAULTS - A 47-year-old woman from Cass Lake Friday reported being the victim of a sexual assault on July 7. The report was taken while the woman was at St. Joseph's Medical Center's Emergency Room.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested for second-degree assault and jailed at North Minnesota Juvenile Center in Bemidji after a man reported being shot in the face with an Airsoft pellet gun by another motorist at 8:48 p.m. Sunday at Eighth Avenue Northeast and Highway 210.

Arrested a 22-year-old man for third-degree assault, a 25-year-old woman for obstructing the legal process, and a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old man for disorderly conduct after responding to a fight at 8:33 p.m. Saturday on the 200 block of South Seventh Street.

THEFT - Sheila Litke, 400 block of South Ninth Street, Thursday reported theft of rent money given to another person who was supposed to pay it. Was advised it was a civil matter.

Anthony Wolff, 400 block of South Sixth Street, Thursday reported a credit card stolen.

Jonilda Snetsinger on Saturday reported the theft of two books of CDs from her vehicle while it was parked on the 1000 block of Norwood Street.

Tricia Dosh, 900 block of South 10th Street, Friday reported a bike stolen.

Logan Baumann on Friday reported his bike stolen.

Emma Crust, 1000 block of Maple Street, on Friday reported a bike stolen.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Janice Hardesty Thursday reported two males were trying to get into a mini-van on Willow Street/Ninth Street South and then left in a different vehicle. Officers made contact with the man. It turned out he had locked the keys in his mini-van.

A resident Thursday on the 500 block of North Fifth Street reported a suspicious male outside the residence who may have been trying to gain access to the house. The male took off into Gregory Park. He wasn't located.

Received a report at 12:03 a.m. Saturday of a man sleeping at Hardee's, 119 W. Washington St. The man told officers he was assaulted in Duluth and requested to go to the hospital. An officer transported him to the hospital.

ARREST - Officers were dispatched at 8:58 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of Laurel Street for a possibly intoxicated male sleeping in a rear stairwell of an apartment. The 19-year-old man was arrested without incident on three Hennepin County warrants.

BURGLARY - It was reported Saturday that Northwest Pizza and Boardwalk Bread and Bagel, 302 Washington St., had been broken into.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT - An officer observed a dog running on top of a roof on the 800 block of Front Street. As the officer approached the building the dog fled into an open upstairs window.

THEFTS - Holiday Station Store, 7400 block of Excelsior Road, Friday reported a $5.01 gas drive-off.

Daria Fritz, 4800 block of Cedar Scenic, Thursday reported a theft.

Holiday Station Store, 15000 block of Dellwood Drive, reported a $5 gas drive-off.

ASSIST - Assisted Brainerd police at 3:48 a.m. Friday with a party on the 400 block of Fourth Street Southwest where multiple people fled on foot.

INVESTIGATIONS - Steven Craigie, 14000 block of Kirkwood Drive, Thursday reported a deer sitting in the yard. An officer arrived and scared the deer away.

Nicolas Lamke reported at 2:37 a.m. Sunday that he was driving northbound on Highway 371 near General Rental when his vehicle was struck by an egg and his windshield broken. The suspects fled the area to the east. One juvenile girl was located and charges of criminal damage to property, throwing objects at a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct are expected against several other juveniles.

BURGLARY - Robert Olive, 14000 Firewood Drive, Thursday reported a burglary.

It was reported Sunday that a city-owned building at 13015 Kingwood Drive had been broken into.

CRASH - No injuries were reported Thursday when a car collided with a cart-pushing unit at Wal-Mart.
