Gifts in Kind merchandise request forms available
Morrison County United Way's Gifts in Kind Program began with a phone call in April 2008 - a large chain store in St. Cloud that specializes in sheets, bedding and housewares was looking for a charity in which to donate merchandise.
That call led to Morrison County United Way's first one-year retail contract with Bed, Bath and Beyond, which led to a second one-year retail contract with Guess in Mall of America, which led to a third one-year retail contract with Pottery Barn Kids.
The items donated through the in-kind programs are often returned items that can't be resold, sales samples, overstocked or "as is" items with minor flaws. While some items are new, most are nearly new open-package merchandise .
Merchandise request forms are available through local agencies, area food shelves, the Morrison County United Way's Web site or at the United Way office - between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. below the clock tower in the historic courthouse, downtown Little Falls.
Agencies interested in the program that have not received a merchandise request form can contact Morrison County United Way at unitedway@clearwire.net or at (320) 632-5102.
Additional information and updates regarding the United Way's Gifts In Kind Program may be found at www.morrison countyunitedway.org.
