County commissioner Mary Koep used a routine request for a road improvement to again attack the proposed MacMillan Bloedel wood plant near Deerwood. This is clearly a private road to a private business, and I won't support it, Koep said.

Fifteen men and women, who claimed to be from Brainerd, were questioned by Little Falls Police after neighbors turned in a riot call to subdue a wild party. Eight others escaped by climbing out of windows.

R.R. Wise has again demonstrated his faith in Brainerd by purchasing the National Hotel from Swanson. He is already overhauling the building to make it one of the best $1.50 per day hotels in the state.
