It's not about the racetrack
Rod Wolter, Brainerd International Raceway general manager, said this sign near the raceway does not refer to the racetrack. BIR is owned by Don Williamson, who has been referred to as the colonel. "Those signs all refer to the gas station," Wolter said. The convenience store and restaurant building were recently sold. Wolter declined to comment on the future of the track, which has been rumored for sale. Convenience store officials said the sign is on their property and refers to the store.
