Clarence F. Hines
RANDALL - Clarence F. Hines, age 96, of Randall, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2008, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Randall.

Clarence Francis Hines was born May 13, 1912, in Randall, the son of Frank and Lucy (Shontell) Hines. On Sept. 5, 1940, he was united in marriage to Joyce Bailey. They were able to share almost 68 years of marriage together. In April of 1942, the couple purchased the family farm in Darling Township from his parents, operating it for 24 years. For the next nine years, he owned and operated a sand and gravel business. After retiring, he started a welding shop as a hobby. He built 31 two-wheel trailers and nine farm wagons in his shop. In 1991, the couple moved to Randall and finally to St. Otto's Care Center only three weeks ago. Clarence was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Randall Senior Citizen's Club.









He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucy; a sister, Evelyn Rindell; a half sister, Verena McGuire; and sister-in-law Dorothy Hines. Clarence will be greatly missed by his wife, Joyce of Little Falls; brothers Wilber "Bill" (Alice) Hines of Randall, Vernon (Helen) Hines of Randall, Elmer Hines of San Jose, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
