Stanley D. Lundberg
Stanley D. Lundberg, age 88, resident of Brainerd, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at St. Cloud Hospital.
Born to Emil and Bertha Lundberg, he spent his childhood years in northwest Iowa. He was a graduate of Findlay College, Findlay, Ohio, attended CTS and Bangor Theological Seminary, Bangor, Maine, receiving his BD degree in 1947. He was ordained in 1947 and began his first pastorate at the Plymouth Congregational Church, Dodgeville, Wis. He was later called and served the congregations of Bethlehem Congregational, now Faith United UCC of International Falls, Minn., and Community UCC in St. Paul Park, Minn.
Stanley began his retirement in 1983 continuing to serve through his work with Habitat for Humanity, Daybreak adult day program, Cullen Lake Association and various boards and committees at First Congregational Church UCC, Brainerd.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; daughter, Kristine Hanson (Tom), of Buffalo, N.Y.; sons, David (Joan), Staples, Minn., Timothy (Donna), Cheyenne, Wyo., and Jonathan (Cathy), Ramsey, Minn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Brainerd.
Memorials are preferred to the church or Habitat for Humanity. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd, Minn.
