The year 1937 marked a new beginning for employees and managers on what is now the Potlatch plant in Brainerd. That was the year that Northwest Paper Co. signed contracts with Local 164.
30 years ago (1977)
Francis Mariah, a part-bred Arabian mare owned by Jim and Judy Bandel of Brainerd came away from the largest half-Arabian show in Minnesota with top honors.
40 years ago (1967)
Strong efforts are being made this summer to reorganize Brainerd's women's Drum and Bugle Corps. There are presently 17 members in the group with six more needed.
60 years ago (1947)
The Laurel Dairy, Inc., offering a complete line of dairy products, will begin operation Monday, Alvin Fredstrom, operator, announced today.
