CROSSLAKE - Ben Kepner went 2-for-4 and pitched a complete game as the Crosslake-Fifty Lakes-Pequot Lakes Legion team defeated Pierz 6-3 for the North Subdistrict 6 Division II championship Friday night.
Kepner went 2-for-4 and gave up four hits, struck out five and walked five.
It was a pitchers' duel between Kepner and Pierz's Mark Kahl through shutout four innings.
In the fifth, Pierz scored on a base hit, wild pitch and sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the fifth, CL-FL-PL scored six runs on five hits and two walks. Zach Kline walked and Devin Brooks, Brandon Hilts, Kepner, Josh Rudbeck and Nate Lehman delivered hits.
Pierz scored twice in the top of the seventh for the final score. Mike Poser was 2-for-2 with a run and Mike Weber was 2-4 for Pierz.
