The investigation of the July 5 fire at The Exchange in Crosslake has concluded without a determination on the cause of the fire.
Deputy State Fire Marshal Mark Germain on Monday said there was too much damage in the area of the fire's origin inside the popular bar and restaurant to specifically rule out the building's electrical system as the cause.
The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined and the investigation is closed, Germain said.
The fire, reported at 3:06 a.m. July 5, is believed to have started in the south end of the building and destroyed the bar area, the dance floor and the stage. The dining area and kitchen had heat and smoke damage.
Firefighters from Crosslake, Ideal, Pequot Lakes, Mission, Fifty Lakes and Nisswa had the fire under control within a half-hour of their arrival.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
