Meth lab seized, 2 arrested in rural Fort Ripley
FORT RIPLEY - Two people were arrested Tuesday night after authorities seized a meth lab at their rural Fort Ripley home.

Michelle Lynette Gosse, 34, and Christopher Paul Franzen, 30, were arrested about 10:51 p.m. after Crow Wing County sheriff's deputies and the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division responded to a call of drug activity at the Fort Ripley home.

As a result of the initial investigation and subsequent search warrant a meth lab was seized, the sheriff's department reported. The LADID processed and secured the lab with the assistance of the Brainerd Fire Department. The removal and disposal of the lab was supervised by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Gosse and Franzen were arrested for felony manufacture of a controlled substance and are being held in the Crow Wing County jail pending formal criminal charges from the Crow Wing County attorney's office.

Tuesday's meth lab seizure was the first in Crow Wing County in about three years.

"It's been some time," Sheriff Todd Dahl said. "It just goes to show how community involvement is very important. We really stress when it comes to law enforcement and the community, communication is what we really need."

Dahl asked anyone who suspects drug activity to contact the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division at 829-4749.
