A Boeing 737 will pick up 100 people at the Brainerd-Crow Wing County Airport on a two-day excursion to Elko, Nevada. The charter plane can carry about 54 more passengers than are normally accommodated with regular airline service from Brainerd.

30 years ago (1978)

Jack O'Connor, a Burlington Northern Switchman, after 26 years of employment at Duluth transferred to Brainerd for the sole purpose of having weekends off so that he could travel to horseshoe tournaments.
