Area golf leagues: Bremer on a roll
With a 30-14 pounding of People's Security Aug. 6, Bremer Bank secured the top spot in the Legacy Courses at Cragun's men's league.

Bremer ousted Halverson Law Office, which fell to US Bank 23-21, from its throne ontop the team leaderboard. Halverson Law moves to second, 5.5 points behind Bremer.

Thelen Heating and Roofing topped Edward Jones 23-21 to remain in the hunt at third.

Legacy women

Darlene Swedin tied Joy Roelhke with a 36 for low score and also had the low putts during the Aug. 4 women's league on the Par 3 Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

Nicki Fett was closest to the pin and Kari Anderson sank the longest putt.

On the Dutch Championship course, Jody Hagenson and Debbie Briggs shot 42s for the low rounds. Lottie Oehrlein needed 13 putts to get around the front nine.

Ashley Rothstein nailed the longest drive and Pat Kaminski was closest to the pin.

Breezy Point men

Park Midway Bank remains atop the men's Twilight Golf League standings thanks to a 8-4 victory over Pestello's Aug. 6.

Dick Parks Gas jumped into second with a 10-2 win over Thomas & Associates Law.

Breezy Point women

Dee Wicks and Linda Esser combined to shot 71 for first place in the blind partners event Aug. 6 at the Whitebirch Golf Course for the Breezy Point Resort women's league.

Verna Miller and Sylvia Schmidt placed second. Jan Benson and Bobbie Gfriffiths were third. Sandy O'Day and Ardell Cook finished fourth followed by Judy Thomas and Kathy Zender in fifth.

Thursday's event will be Ryder Cup and will be played on the Traditional Course.

GVL results

Barb Elmquist, Bonnie Morris, Mary Deyoe, Lynn Parker and Sue Koering made up the winning team during the Aug. 4 scramble event at the Garden Course during the Grand View Lodge Women's Outing.

Deyoe had the low putts.

On the Pines Lakes Course Marian Duffy won the Shamble event. Naomi Jobes was second and Gloria Thomas was third.

Duffy needed the lowest amount of putts.

The next Coed Outing will be 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at The Pines. To register call Joni Meyer at (218) 963-8767 or (218) 820-2607.

Whitefish women

Barb Hanson racked up 26 points Aug. 5 to win flight A of the Chicago points event during the Whitefish women's 18-hole league.

Anita Stensby and Susan Walstrom tied for second and Barb Holubar placed fourth.

Dorie Kaleva tallied 29 points to win flight B. Linda Carpenter was second, Myra Faust third and Diane Giefer fourth.

Judy Eastwood won flight C followed by Barb DeLaHunt, Mary Boeder and Darlene Bonnema.

Eastwood and Faust tied for low net with 65s.

Hanson, Stensby and Dorie Kaleva carded birdies and Judy Johnson sank a chip.

The 18-hole and 9-hole leagues will combine for the Women of Whitefish event Aug. 12.

Pine River results

Eunice Sorenson, Laura Fergeson and Carol Lovro won the dice game event Aug. 6 during the Pine River Country Club women's league.

Joan Tuttle had a chip in and Lovro recorded the low putts.
