20 years ago (1988)

The North Countrymen Barbershoppers are hosting a Central Minnesota Barbershop Chorus Jamboree Aug. 27 at Tornstrom Auditorium.

30 years ago (1978)

The 1938 graduating class of Washington High School held its 40 year reunion at Brainerd Country Club. Special guests were Mrs. John Chalberg, Mr. and Mrs. U. E. Whiteis and Mr. and Mrs. Nick Oganovic. The class president, Oren Steinfelt, was the master of ceremonies.

40 years ago (1968)

The Lake Hubert Railroad Station which was built 72 years ago as the first station north of Brainerd has been saved from demolition.

60 years ago (1948)

The Brainerd Ladies' Drum and Bugle Corps and the Brainerd Municipal Band entertained patients at the veterans' hospital in St. Cloud yesterday afternoon. The only other drum and bugle corps performing was the St. Cloud VFW unit.

80 years ago (1928)

Local news:

¥ Drs. J.A. Thabes Sr. and Jr. left today by motor for Walker on professional business.

¥ Merle Storm returned from St. Paul today.

100 years ago (1908)

The band boys went to Cedar Lake Sunday p.m. and were royally entertained at Mr. Hamdorf's. They were met at the station with teams and taken direct to Mr. Hamdorf's farm. A sumptuous spread was given them for supper. There were 100 people for supper.
