20th annual Taste of the Lakes is set for Nov. 21
BREEZY POINT - The 20th annual Taste of the Lakes, the major fundraiser for Kinship Partners, will be Nov. 21 at Breezy Point Resort.

The social hour and silent auction will start at 5:30 p.m. with the chef's presentations at 7 p.m. followed by the live auction. Tickets are $75 per person and are available at the Kinship Partners office, 910 Pine Street in Brainerd.

Area restaurants and caterers will provide a sampling of their culinary specialties, including appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. Wine and beer will also be available for tasting. The silent auction will feature artwork of various mediums from artisans in the Brainerd lakes area and a selection of literary-based gift baskets.

Special gifts, such as Lasik eye surgery given by Dr. Jerome Poland; a week in Mazatlan in a two bedroom beach condo, donated by Glen Gustafson; a wine and cheese basket from Haskell's; a Winter Weekend Getaway for a family of four at Cragun's Resort; a one-night stay in an executive suite for two at the Marquette Hotel; a week stay at Edgewild Resort from Peter Nelson; a 20x24 portrait, frame and photo session donated by Sother's Photography, and a television from Best Buy will be included in the live auction.

Inner Circle of Friends sponsors for the 2008 Taste of the Lakes are Ascensus, Close-Converse Commercial Properties, Crosby Eye Clinic, Crow Wing Power, CTC, Consolidated Telecommunications Co., Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Fiducia Benefits Group, Hunt Utilities Group, Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union, and Scearcy & Associates. Co-table sponsors are Anderson Brothers Construction, Midwest Family Eye Center, Northern National Bank and Raboin Law Firm. The 2008 wine glass sponsors are C-I Communications, Clow Stamping Co., Dondelinger Chevrolet-Cadillac Inc., RiverWood Bank, and Spalj Construction.

All money raised benefits the children's programs of Kinship Partners. The mission of Kinship Partners is to provide positive role models and guidance to youth in our communities.
