BYAA registration Aug. 25
Brainerd Youth Athletic Association football registration and equipment distribution will take place near the equipment shed at the Brainerd High School football field from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 25.

The program is open to Brainerd fourth- and fifth-graders.

Boosters social Tuesday

The Brainerd Sports Boosters Club has scheduled a social event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chopper's, 723 Mill Ave., Brainerd.

The public is invited for free appetizers and refreshments while mingling with Warrior coaches.

Thursday luncheon meetings being Aug. 30 at the Brainerd Moose Lodge. Meetings begin at noon and finish by 1 p.m.

Brainerd Lakes Curling open house Aug. 26

The Brainerd Lakes Curling Association will host a free, on-ice open house for those interested in exploring the sport of curling at Brainerd Area Civic Center from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 26.

Anyone curious about the sport, or has played before and wants to learn more about the local club is invited. The event will feature free instruction, short games and a "draw to the button" contest at 3 p.m.

The BLCA is planning a league night on Saturdays, running from November to March, at the Hallett Ice Arena in Crosby. Last year, more than 150 people learned to deliver stones, sweep and experience the sport during the weekly league.

Swanhorst, Couture to be clinicians at CL-B

Crosby-Ironton girls' basketball coach Randy Swanhorst and Little Falls boys' hockey coach Tony Couture will be clinicians in the inaugural North Central Minnesota Multisport Coaching/Athlete Clinic that will take place Sept. 15-16 at Cass Lake-Bena High School.

Athlete clinics will be Sept. 15 and feature basketball and wrestling.

Clinics are open to boys and girls in middle through high school grades.

Pre-registration is due by Sept. 10 with a fee of $20 for each athlete. The fee includes a sports bag.

The Multisport Coaching Clinic will be Sept. 16.

Pre-registration is due by Sept. 10 with a $50 coaching clinic fee. Coaching staff fee packages are available.
