Don Sande, a Baxter resident, admired a Canadian goose that has been a frequent dinner guest at his White Sand Lake home this summer. The goose was captured this spring in Minneapolis, shipped to Baudette and purchased by a resident of Pine Beach Road. The goose then flew away, landed on White Sand Lake and was adopted by Sande.

A field of alfalfa attracting universal attention is that of Mike Marea on Trunk Highway 19. He has cut one crop and another is looming in the offing. Mike is making farming pay and is not afraid to experiment in new lines.

The mammoth spectacular extravaganza, "The Cat and the Fiddle," is billed for the Brainerd Opera House Aug. 25. It is not extravagant to say that this is one of the finest attractions of its kind seen here. Prices, $1.50, $1.00, 75¢, and 25¢.
