College receives $61,000 bequest
The Central Lakes College Foundation recently received a bequest in the amount of $61,743 from the Roy and Mildred Sargent estate.

"The gift comes at a time when the demand for scholarships is at an all-time high to meet the need for the increasing enrollment at CLC," Diane Scearcy, foundation executive director, said in a news release. "Their generosity is an inspiration."

The gift creates an endowment for student scholarships in the nursing and related health care fields.

The Sargents were longtime residents of the Brainerd area. They owned and operated a farm in Daggett Brook Township and lived there for 60 years.
