90th Birthday
Vera Donna LeDoux Hendrickson Wood celebrated her 90th birthday early with friends and family on Sunday, August 9th at Lakes Area Senior Activity Center. Her birthday is October 1. Guests enjoyed piano music by Shirley Lintner of Baxter and guitar music by vocalist Dorothy Doring of St. Paul. Guests reviewed genealogy reports and family photos for the LeDoux and Hendrickson lines. Vera was born 1919 in Tower, ND. She is one of sixteen children raised in the Brainerd/Merrifield area. She is a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd and currently resides at Heritage Place in Roseville, MN and attends Roseville Lutheran Church. Vera and her late husband Emil Hendrickson raised three children - Robert, Marjorie and Janet, has three grandchildren - Kathleen (Bill), John and Margo (James) and four great granddaughters Ð Jessica, Victoria, Amelia and Beatrix. Vera lived in Brainerd where Emil worked for the Northern Pacific (now Burlington Northern) Railroad. The NP/BN transferred them to Dilworth/Moorhead for six years, St. Paul for six years and Auburn, WA for eleven years. After she retired as a beautician and Emil retired from the railroad, she lived for twenty-six years in Mesa, AZ until and after Emil's death. Vera married Wilbur Wood, now deceased, and spent parts of six years in FL, AZ and MN. Vera enjoys her family, friends and numerous activities where she currently lives.
