Richfield's Sander, Bemidji's Kippenhan win championships LAKES COUNTRY TRIATHLON
BAXTER - Steve Sander of Richfield completed the half-mile swim, 17.3 mile bike and 3.9 mile run to win Sunday's Lakes Country Triathlon at Whipple Beach.
Sander had the fastest bike time with a 38:34, the fifth fastest swim time at 11:21 and the second fastest run time with a 22:26.
Greg Rhodes of St. Paul, Cory Olson of Fargo, Jim Graif of Elk River and Mariusz Czarnomski of Grand Rapids rounded out the top five.

Rhodes had the fastest swim time and Olson the fastest run time.
The top area finish went to Pine River's Troy Bouma, who crossed the finish line in 1:24:46 to place ninth overall.
Scott Meyer of Baxter placed 56th with a time of 1:33:41.
Christel Kippenhan of Bemidji was the top female finisher with a 1:29:42 to place 29th overall.
