Burglary investigation leads to two arrests
LITTLE FALLS - Two men were arrested Saturday in connection with the theft of about 10 chain saws from a residence in Little Falls Township, the Morrison County Sheriff's Department reported.

The burglary and theft was reported Aug. 12. The arrests were made after sheriff's deputies and Little Falls police officers executed search warrants in Little Falls and Buckman. A 26-year-old Little Falls man was taken into custody and is being held at the Morrison County jail. A 32-year-old Little Falls man also suspected in the burglary and theft is being held on other charges in Sherburne County.

After interviews were completed, deputies located the missing chain saws, pole saws, and a generator, in a Little Falls area storage garage. The stolen items have been returned to their owner.

The case file has been forwarded to the Morrison County attorney's office for preparation of a formal complaint.

Brainerd Family YMCA swim lessons begin week of Sept. 8

The Brainerd Family YMCA's next swim lesson session is coming soon. The lesson schedule is available now at the YMCA and on the Web at brainerdlakesymca.org. The session begins the week of Sept. 8 and meets once a week for seven weeks. These pre-school and school-age lessons are taught by trained instructors. YMCA members may begin registering for pre-school classes Monday and school age classes on Sept. 1. Community members can begin on Sept. 3.

Poetry seminar slated Wednesday in Crosslake

CROSSLAKE - The Crosslake Chautauqua Poetry Seminar is set from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Crosslake Community Center.

Joe Albrecht will be the facilitator in "Poems: A Second Helping." Participants will read and discuss poems at the free seminar.

Reserve a place at the table by registering in person at the community center or call (218) 692-4271. All materials will be furnished. People are asked to bring a pen.
