Robert C. Pickar

Robert Clifford Pickar, 68, Brainerd, passed away at his home in Brainerd, on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009. He was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Brainerd, Minn., to Clifford and Anne Pickar. He was a lifelong resident of the Brainerd lakes area. He married Roberta "Bonnie" at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd on Dec. 20, 1958. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator/over-the-road truck driver for Mathiowetz Construction. He enjoyed snowmobile racing, NASCAR racing and loved spending time with his family and friends. Bob's favorite thing in the world was drinking coffee with friends and family and dollar burgers on Wednesdays with his two best friends, Conrad and Bob.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Anne; grandson, Jesse Lundeby; sister, Verna Kramer; and five brothers-in-law.

He is survived by spouse, Roberta "Bonnie" (Frisch); daughters, Wanda (Terry) Lundeby and Kelli Pickar (Scott Kramer), both of Brainerd; grandchildren, Trina (Nick) Erickson, Traci (Dave) Badeaux, Brady, Alysa and Jordan Kramer; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Mariah, Conner and Beau Erickson, Izzi and Maverick Badeaux; brother, Richard (Nancy) Pickar; sisters, Hattie Sunde, Irene Goble, Peggy (Bill) Erickson, Maxine (Emil) Hines, Donna Sunde, Dorothy (Larry) Larson and Nancy (Mark) Larson; and his lifelong best friend, Conrad Voels.

Funeral services for Robert Pickar will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Mark Skinner officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brainerd. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Arrangements are with the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.
