It has been a good tourism year. Weather has been good - we can't control it, but we can take advantage of it.
30 years ago (1977)
Edie Ramp won the Ladies' Brainerd Country Club Golf Championship. Mrs. Ramp won on the 15th over Phyllis Dunlap of their 18-hole finale. Edie paid tribute to Lyle Westrum, Brainerd Country Club pro for her improved play.
40 years ago (1967)
Joanne Kolar and Joy Liebsch brought their horses and carts into town yesterday and gave rides to youngsters in the area for a fee and then turned the proceeds over to the Humane Society.
60 years ago (1947)

¥ Dance every evening at Bar Harbor.
80 years ago (1927)
A natural fish hatchery operating at Gull Lake Dam is to turn out a car load of 20,000 bass fingerlings which will be given to the state for distribution as it sees fit.
100 years ago (1907)
Brockway and Parker will move into their new quarters in the new Reilly building tonight. They will have handsome and commodious quarters when they get settled.
