LOCAL BRIEFS Club to host
Labor Day shoot
LAKE SHORE - The Lakeshore Conservation Club will host a Labor Day Shoot and potluck from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday to celebrate a successful year. There will be many prizes given away and fun shoots throughout the day.
Potluck begins at noon with hamburgers and hot dogs provided.
The range will be open noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Rifle range will be open through October.

Historical society hours announced
NISSWA - The Nisswa Area Historical Society will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Saturday for the holiday Labor Day weekend. Open hours will revert to Saturdays only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sept. 29.

Nelson family benefit planned
A benefit is planned at 6 p.m. Friday at the Brainerd VFW, 309 S. Sixth St., for Derrick and Margaret Nelson (Anderson), who had to leave their home due to a fire July 21.
There will be a bake sale, silent auction and freewill offering supper with barbecue, potato salad and coleslaw.
The benefit is sponsored by co-workers at Wal-Mart. For more information call 828-4325 or 927-4044.
Bloodmobile to be in Nisswa
NISSWA - The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Nisswa from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 5 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross.
Those interested in giving blood must be at least 17 years of age, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds.

Spinners to spin at Pioneer Village
NISSWA - The Nisswa Area Historical Society invites members, families and summer visitors to enjoy a day of demonstrations of spinning, weaving and soap making at the Pioneer Village, Main Street, Nisswa.
The group will demonstrate their skills from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in Pioneer Village.
