Brainerd YMCA Web site updated with fall program information
The Brainerd Family YMCA Web site is now updated for all its fall program information.

Available to download as PDF files are the following: registration forms for adult volleyball and dodgeball leagues, youth soccer and flag football leagues, Dolphin swim team, Kids Club after-school care and schedules for swim lessons, gym use, lap pool, aquatics center and fitness classes.

Those interested may also download the YMCA Fall 2006 program guide, which provides all program information for September through December. YMCA members receive early registration for some programs and reduced fees on all programs and classes. The YMCA Web site is found at www.brainerdlakesymca.org. More information also may be obtained by calling the YMCA at 829-4767.

School supplies still needed

The Salvation Army has begun distribution of school supplies to the 200 children who have signed up for the school program but there are still 150 name tags left on the tree at Westgate Mall of kids who are in dire need of school supplies.

Those interested in helping can do so by making a monetary donation, donating school supplies or picking a tag at Westgate Mall and purchasing the items and returning them to the Salvation Army, 208 S. Fifth St., Brainerd.

Rally Up North set for the weekend

The third annual Rally Up North is set for Friday and Saturday with activities taking place at the Old Waterfall on Highway 371 north of Brainerd.

Pre-registration is scheduled for Friday night. Those who pre-registered online can pick up a wristband at the will-call booth Friday night or Saturday morning.

Volunteers from the Brainerd Thunder Motorcycle Club will be parking the bikes on Saturday morning. The ride starts at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The pig roast starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free for participants as is the dance with Austin Healy.

Registered participants are eligible for all the door prizes and a burnout pit and dynomachine are available.

There will be a live onstage drawing at 10:30 p.m. for the American Hardcore Custom Motorcycle.

Tickets will be available all day at all locations.

Crosslake council meets in special session

CROSSLAKE - The Crosslake City Council is meeting in a special session at 9 a.m. Wednesday at city hall.

The council plans to consider approval of a Personnel Committee recommendation regarding 2007 management and non-union wages and benefits, to review and discuss the 2007 expenditure and revenue budgets by department and to discuss pre-existing lots and approve bill payment.
