A 28-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg Friday as he operated an all-terrain vehicle in a gravel pit area 3 miles west of Remer.
Adam Majetich, 28, of Hastings, was struck with a 50-caliber bullet from a centerfire rifle. Cass County Sheriff Randy Fisher said the shooting is being investigated, but appears accidental. Fisher said the shot appeared to be fired at a target in the gravel pit when it struck Majetich.
The shooting took place in a rural area at about 2:30 p.m. Majetich was transported to the Remer airport by North Ambulance and then airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale by North Air Care.
Majetich's condition was unavailable Saturday.
