An appreciation certificate for her outstanding work as Heart Fund chairman in the city of Brainerd was presented to Mrs. Thomas Kotula. Mrs. Kotula, assisted by 111 volunteers, raised $1,105.12 in the Brainerd heart fund drive.

80 years ago (1928)
Nine miles of snow fencing will be delivered to Brainerd within a few days to protect township and county roads from snow drifting. The fencing costs approximately seven cents a running foot with posts figured at 35¢ each.
