Virgil L. Workman
NISSWA - Virgil L. Workman, 75, of Nisswa, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Virgil was born July 12, 1934, in Astoria, Ill., the son of Sam and Ruby Workman. He was one of five children. After graduating high school, Virgil worked as a farmer and cattle feed salesman. He was also a bartender for the American Legion in Nisswa for 25 years. In addition he worked at Mattson Lumber in Nisswa. In 1974, Virgil was united in marriage to Roberta Richardson. The couple was able to spend 34 happy years together.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; five children from a previous marriage; and stepdaughter, Sally Dunn, of Nineveh, Pa.; one sister; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
