CROSSLAKE -- A few bugs still have to be worked out of the city of Crosslake's state-of-the-art audio and visual system, but city council members got a chance to test the technology at Wednesday's special meeting.
The audio system, which was installed last week, will allow council members to push a "cough" button to mute their microphones when needed. The system should improve audio quality when the meetings are broadcast on the local cable channel as well.
Each of the five council members has a black flat screen monitor in front of them, which allows them to see what is being shown on the large projection screen to audience members.
Council members seemed pleased with the system Wednesday.
"I like the fact I can watch 'Oprah' when it gets boring," council member Terry Curtis joked as he adjusted the monitor on the desk.
