Randall man's body is found
Staff Writer RANDALL - The body of 30-year-old Josh Cullen Conrady, missing from his parent's rural Randall home for more than a week, was found Saturday in a wooded area.
A volunteer search group located Conrady's body Saturday afternoon near Conrady's father's property in the Enchanted Lakes Area, about five miles north of Randall on Morrison County Road 1, the Morrison County Sheriff's Department reported. Conrady was last seen Aug. 23 leaving his parent's house on foot.
The body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for autopsy to determine cause of death and positive identification, but Sheriff Michael Wetzel said his officers are confident the body is that of Conrady's.
"We know it's him," Wetzel said.
Wetzel said it is believed that Conrady died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, which also is expected to be confirmed by the medical examiner. Conrady was reported to be depressed regarding the recent drowning death of his brother, Travis, and may have been in possession of a shotgun.
Wetzel said Conrady's family has had a difficult time with the death of one son and the disappearance of another son. He hoped finding Conrady's body would allow them some measure of closure.
"The poor family has to wonder and wait during something like this. We had pretty good idea that would be outcome, but until we find him, identify him and bring them some closure it's hard on them. It will continue to be hard on them," Wetzel said. "It's quite a tragedy for that family."
