Landecker paces field; Cardinals 2nd CROSS COUNTRY
WADENA - Naomi Landecker won the individual title in the girls' division of the Wadena-Deer Creek Invite Tuesday with a time of 15:04.
Landecker's victory helped propel the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a second-place finish, one point behind Class 1A's third-ranked Perham.
Natasha Wenzel and Emma Pogreba helped the Cardinals' cause, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively.
For the Cardinal boys, Jordan Bendson and Gunner Johnson were second and third to lead S-M to a third-place finish.
The Little Falls boys finished second behind Perham, highlighted by five Flyers in the top 20. Justin Posterick was eighth and Preston Zimny 10th.
The Flyer girls finished fourth. Beth Hauer was seventh and Manon Gammon-Deering 10th.

Pierz girls second
PLYMOUTH - Freshman Mariah Hoheisel (fifth) and Caleb Janson (12th) were the top runners for Pierz in Tuesday's Rockford Invite.
Mariah Hoheisel finished in 16:58 followed by Sonya Theis in sixth place and Megan Hoheisel in 11th to put the Pioneers in second place.
Janson finished 12th in 18:35 followed by Ben Welle in 19th, putting Pierz in fourth place.
