When it comes to entertainment, fest knows no boundaries
The Cowboy and Hobo Music Festival is scheduled Sept. 12-13 at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd.
The festival, in its third year, features country, folk, bluegrass and light rock entertainers and bands and benefits the Brainerd Chapter of Fishing Has No Boundaries.
It's family friendly and fun for all ages. Everyone is encouraged to bring their instruments and talent to jam on the grounds. Campers are welcome and may reserve a spot by calling 829-6680.
The Shaffer Bluegrass Band will be among numerous performers Sept. 11-13 at the annual Cowboy and Hobo Music Festival at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd.
The year's list of acts includes Minnesota County Music Hall of Fame member Red Johnson, Midwest Country Theater performer Angie Senger, Casey Aro, The Nelsons, Michigan's yodeling sweetheart Joyce Leonard, Vern Bishop, Michelle Johnson, Duane and Deb Hawkinson, The Shaffer Country Band, The Shaffer Bluegrass Band, Rockabilly Hall of Fame and Mid-America Music Hall of Fame member Johnny Jay Huhta with locals Katie Nelson, Mitch Dallman and The Cowboy and Hobo Show with Cactus Willie, Boxcar Bob and the Drifter.
Entertainment starts at 10 a.m. and wraps up at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and gospel music runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $10 a day or $20 for a three-day pass, $15 for seniors 55 and older (three-day pass) and free for children 12 and under with an adult.
