The Brainerd doubles team of Emily Nelson (left) and Zoe Houle rallied to beat Alexandria.
With Brainerd and Alexandria tied at three victories apiece the Warriors' No. 1 doubles team of Emily Nelson-Zoe Houle rallied from a first-set loss to take the next two sets and secure a 4-3 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday.
The loss was Alexandria's first in three meets in conference play and its first loss in nine duals overall.
"Alex had a strong, aggressive team," Warriors assistant coach Ellen Fussy said. "Emily and Zoe battled back, losing the first set 2-6, winning the second set 6-3 and closing the deal in the third set 6-4. Both veteran players really stepped up their play to secure the team win."
Brainerd also received straight-set victories from No. 1 and No. 2 singles players Taylor Headlee and Mikinzee Salo and from the No. 3 doubles team of Claire Surma-Katie Southard.
The Warriors improved their dual meet record to 3-0 in the Central Lakes Conference and overall.
