Foster, Beltz, Pequot Lakes and Crosby-Ironton win
PEQUOT LAKES - Led by Clayton Foster the top-ranked Pequot Lakes Patriots boys' cross country team claimed the top six spots, and eight of the top 10, in their invitational Thursday.
Foster, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A, won the meet with a time of 17:21 as the Patriots had a perfect score of 15 points.
The only non-Patriot runners in the top 10 were seventh-place Jesse Krause of Pillager and 10th-place Joe Smith of Pine River-Backus.
Kylie Beltz and Sydney Johnson took first and second, respectively, for the Patriots in the girls' event.
Crosby-Ironton won the girls' meet as Stacey Gustafson finished third, Lisa Borden fourth, Maria Abear sixth, Shelby Vukelich seventh and Christine Gustafson eighth.
