Dwight Brooks, a 45-year-old land developer from California, has built a six and a half foot long radio controlled battery powered tug boat. The tugboat, which was first launched on Gull Lake July 4 is equipped with bells, a water pump and a gun that squirts a stream of water.

Eighty-two more kindergarten students than had been anticipated showed up for classes this fall. The total elementary enrollment stands at 2,503, compared to 2,424.

As a means of introducing to the public the Brainerd-Crow Wing County airport project, the Airport Commission, headed by Walter Wieland, has announced an open house Sunday afternoon.

The Park Board has cleared a space 400 feet square in the new part of Lum Park and a ditch is being constructed preparatory to making the cleared space into a baseball diamond. A grandstand is also being erected.
