Flyers defeat Brainerd VOLLEYBALL
LITTLE FALLS - The Brainerd Warriors opened their Central Lakes Conference season Tuesday at Little Falls and came out on the short end of a 3-1 score.
Sydnie Mauch had seven kills and Alanna Hansen had 16 set assists for the Warriors.
"Little Falls did everything that we talk about doing in practice to us. They served close to 100 percent and were extremely scrappy," said Brainerd coach Jared Diem. "We were just the opposite. We didn't take care of the ball. Defensively, we weren't there. We were tipping balls and we need to be hitting them down."
Hallsey Olson had 13 digs, and Alice Widmark and Allison Mueller each had two ace serves as the Warriors evened their record at 1-1.
Alayna Kabanuk had 11 kills and 12 digs, Lexi Hirsch had 16 set assists and Jessica Hanowski had 22 digs and 13 set assists for Little Falls.
