Lloyd Haggberg
BACKUS - Lloyd Haggberg, age 97, of Backus, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. He was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Courtenay, N.D., to Gust and Ruby Haggberg. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Blanche Wooldridge on March 4, 1935, in Park River, N.D. They moved to McKinley Township in the early 1940s. He enjoyed talking on his CB radios.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Blanche; children, Gene Haggberg (Carol Ann), Ila Sheppard (Bob), Carol Valentini (Ed); grandchildren, Robin Lyon, Kevin Sheppard (Jennifer), Shari LaVigne (Gary), Nick Valentini (Lindsey), Tony Valentini (Michelle), Lane Haggberg, Erica Prigge; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Backus, with Pastor Doyle Turner officiating. Inurnment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
