Fire calls
On Sept. 11, the Brainerd Fire Department displayed a large American flag from one of the fire trucks to mark the anniversary of the terror attacks.
On Thursday, the department responded to two calls. One at 4:11 p.m. was a report of smoke filling a building on the 500 block of Northwest Fourth Street. After ventilating the area, they found the smoke came from burnt food left in the microwave too long.
A call at 6:42 p.m. to Woodland Good Samaritan, 100 block of Buffalo Hills Lane, was determined to be a false alarm.
