James E. Flaskerud
1941 - 2009
AUBURN, Ala. - Mr. James Earl Flaskerud was born on Jan. 29, 1941, and passed away on Sept. 15, 2009.
He is preceded in death by parents, Ole and Ione Flaskerud, of Brainerd, Minn.
Jim served in the Navy aboard the USS Enterprise on its maiden voyage. He then attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor of science degree in business. He worked for several years as a CPA and financial executive before starting his own accounting practice in Charlotte, N.C., in 1985. After retiring, he moved to Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., then Knoxville, Tenn. At the time of his death, Jim was living in Auburn, Ala., with his wife, Mary Ann.
He is survived by brother, Tom Flaskerud; sisters, Ruth Talbot and Denise Toth; son, Brent Flaskerud; and daughters, Julie Lane and Elise Peters. In addition, he is survived by stepsons, Lawrence C. Wooden, Richard Wooden, Jon Wooden and David Wooden; six grandchildren; and 12 stepgrandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
