Boyd Lodge redevelopment on agenda
The Crow Wing County Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday will consider a request for approval of a preliminary plat and a conditional use permit for a planned unit development for Boyd Lodge on Whitefish and Rush lakes in Ideal Township.
The developer, Lands End Development LLC of Crosslake, has proposed creating Boyd Lodge Common Interest Community consisting of 38 lots, seven outlots, resort buildings and amenities to include check-in and restaurant, lakeside gathering building, outdoor swimming pool and wellness center, boat launching area, outdoor swimming pool and changing rooms and maintenance building and laundry.
Lands End Development has signed a purchase agreement to buy the resort with Roger and Nancy Schwieters, whose family has owned Boyd Lodge since the 1930s.
The county has received 12 letters in support of the development and five letters against.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meeting is 5 p.m. Thursday on the third floor of the Crow Wing County Historic Courthouse.
