Robert Gillson
PILLAGER - Robert Gillson, 61, Pillager, passed away at his home in Pillager, on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009. He was born June 21, 1948, in Fairmont, Minn., to Howard and Berniece (Hoyles) Gillson. He married Angeline Carlson on Sept. 6, 1969. He was a member of the Pillager Assembly of God Church. He was a school board member; he spent his time buying and selling items on eBay, and was a sports fanatic and an inventor and enjoyed farming. He loved his grandchildren and was a devoted father and loving husband.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Angeline, Pillager; daughters, Amy (Victor) Sofie, Baxter, Rebecca (Roger) Windschitl, Columbia, Md., and Rachelle Gillson, Pillager; four grandchildren, Robert, Rylan, Regan and Kyler; his mother, Berniece, Pillager; his siblings, Don (Sheryl), Pillager, Barb (Jim) Mares, Bertha, Arlene (Marlon) Johnson, Staples, Jerry (TJ), Halsey, Ore., Carol (James) Houston, Independence, Mo., Calvin Robertson, Pillager; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Casino Assemblies of God Church in Pillager. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and one hour prior to the service at the Casino church on Friday.
Arrangements are with the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Brainerd.
