Warriors outlast Lakers BOYS' SOCCER
BAXTER - Jacob Williams scored the tying goal and the game winner to lead the Brainerd Warriors boys' soccer team to 3-2 overtime victory over the Detroit Lakes Lakers Saturday.
The Lakers opened up a 1-0 lead at the half before Chris Nathan tied the score with his direct free kick at the 55 minute mark.
Detroit Lakes received a go-ahead goal from Jon Carter 10 minutes later on a penalty kick.
Two minutes later Williams tied the score again. Then, from an assist by Chris Dens, kicked in the deciding goal at the 85 minute mark.
Brainerd keeper Brian Sexton finished with three saves. The Warriors held Detroit Lakes without a shot in the extra frame.
The Warriors have won four straight with only home games remaining on the regular-season schedule.
