Brainerd High School Homecoming Queen Sue Hills and King Todd Lyscio, chosen at last night's coronation ceremonies, will reign over today's homecoming festivities.

40 years ago (1968)

Kay Niemi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Niemi, Rt. 2, was crowned Brainerd Homecoming Queen. A bonfire and pepfest started the homecoming celebrations.

60 years ago (1948)

The Brainerd paper mill produces 24,000 tons of paper annually. At the peak of the cutting season about 15,000 cords of pulp wood are racked in the mill yard. The payroll in wages and salaries paid to 187 employees exceeds half a million dollars annually.

80 years ago (1928)

Brainerd is to get two great theater attractions next week. "Wings" at the Lyceum and "Trial of Mary Dugan," a big stage road show at the Park.

100 years ago (1908)

New town of Klondike, newly platted place, has many advantages and should attract investors. In the center of the Iron Range, Klondike is located almost in the center of principal development located on the beautiful Lookout Lake and on the main line of the N.P.R.R.
