As a freshman Julie Beasley already was one of the Brainerd Warriors top divers but behind Mary Houle and Toni Walker. With Houle and Walker having graduated, Beasley went on to shatter both records in three days.

Brainerd area residents took part recently in the state-wide Bike-a-thon for diabetes raising about $1,300. Thirty-three riders ranging in age from 6 to 41 participated in the ride.

The Brainerd water tower can be restored to a city landmark that is structurally safe for somewhere in the vicinity of $30,000 it was revealed at a city council meeting.

S.R. Prindle president of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce announced that the Junior Chamber will conduct a paper pick-up campaign on Sunday, Oct. 10. Team captains are Charles Russell, Bob Turcotte, Joe Warrick and Don Sande.
