LOCAL BRIEFS
Absentee ballots are available, says auditor
Deborah A. Erickson, Crow Wing County auditor, announces that absentee ballots are now available from the auditor's office for Crow Wing County residents. If you are unable to vote on Nov. 4, 2008, Election Day, because of absence from the precinct, illness, physical disability or other reasons, you are eligible to vote by absentee ballot.

Additionally, you may vote in person at the county auditor's office where a voting booth is set up for your convenience. In compliance with the Help America Vote Act, an accessible voting technology device will be available to assist voters in marking their ballot if they so choose.

In addition to regular hours, the county auditor's office will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 1 or you may request absentee ballots by contacting your county auditor. Requests should be in as soon as possible to insure receiving the ballot in ample time.

For further information, contact Deborah A. Erickson, Crow Wing County auditor, at (218) 824-1045, or visit the Crow Wing County Web site at www.co.crow-wing.mn.us.
