Police blotter
Baxter police

CRASH - A one-car accident with injuries was reported at 9:54 p.m. Thursday at Highway 371 and Highland Scenic Road.

SEARCH - A female reported at 7:15 p.m. Thursday that her 9-year-old brother ran from her vehicle on Wise Road into the woods. The boy was later located at Sears in Baxter without incident. Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - A crash without injuries was reported at 1:35 p.m. Thursday on the 14500 block of Dellwood Drive when one vehicle backed into another.

Brainerd police

PROPERTY DAMAGE - A car vs. deer crash was reported at 2:36 a.m. Friday at the railroad tracks on Southeast 13th Street.

A two-vehicle crash without injuries was reported at 3:57 p.m. Thursday at Northwest Fourth and James streets.

ASSAULT - A report at 8:15 a.m. Thursday of a male student at Lincoln Education Center assaulting the staff. The student was charged with fifth-degree assault, obstructing the legal process and disorderly conduct.

INVESTIGATION - North Ambulance was called at 9:08 p.m. Thursday to the 100 block of B Street for a 17-month-old child who ate laundry soap. The ambulance was canceled on arrival. North Ambulance had contacted Poison Control and the problem was resolved.

THEFT - A report was received Thursday of the theft of cash and shoes from a locker during a game at Brainerd High School.

Crow Wing sheriff

ARREST - A 25-year-old man was arrested at 2:22 p.m. Thursday for driving while intoxicated after his vehicle went into the ditch and rolled on the 17000 block of County Road 24 east of Burgwald Road.

CRASH - A deer vs. car crash was reported at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wise Road and Golden Pond Drive. The deer was dispatched but the driver wasn't reported injured.

THEFT - An apartment on the 7900 block of Highway 169 in Garrison was reported Thursday to have been broken into with several items taken.

An Emily woman reported Thursday that her credit card number had been used without her consent.

INVESTIGATION - A Realtor reported Thursday that a neighbor had hung caution tape along the property line at a home on the 5900 block of Ojibwa Road.

INFORMATION - Christina Smith reported Thursday losing her two Dobermans, one male with chain collar and tags and one female with a black collar on the 18000 block of Nelson Fork Road. Animal Control and Heartland Animal Rescue Team did not have the dogs. She said the dogs are not mean.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - A Cuyuna woman reported Thursday her front door had been broken in and the windows were broken on her vehicle.

A Maple Grove Township woman living on the 9900 block of County Road 23 reported Thursday that her mailbox had been shot sometime the night before.

A Long Lake Township property owner reported Thursday a rogue cow damaged her property.

A car vs. deer crash with no injuries was reported at 5:36 a.m. Thursday at Highway 6 and County Road 11 in Perry Lake Township.

Another car vs. deer crash was reported at 1 a.m. Thursday on the 18600 block of Woodrow Road in Brainerd. The driver wasn't injured but a deer permit was issued for the dead deer.

DEATH - A Center Township man reported early Thursday that his sister "was sleeping on the couch and looks to be dead this morning." The 55-year-old woman was dead. Autopsy results are pending but foul play is not suspected, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.

Fires

IRONTON - The Ironton Fire Department was called to an electrical fire about 7:40 a.m. Friday at a home on Viola Avenue in Ironton.

Ironton Fire Chief Brian Blom said the fire originated near an electrical panel and climbed a wall, mostly smoldering in the insulation. The damage was estimated at about $15,000.
